Back on the East Coast

I'd bought a new boat, based in Plymouth and so used that as a starting point for an extended jaunt. Sauntered about Falmouth, Solent, bit of France then the dogged return up Channel and round the corner. Good to see that old landmark, Grain Tower again. Boat now on my mooring in the Medway. Good to be back among the mud, the Estuary traffic, container ports and power stations.

Lowry and summat as far as I remember. The velcro strips that are supposed to retain the battens give way so I lost 3. Sewed them in after that. I'm getting used to the bolt rope and roller boom arrangement. I'm up at the mast like my Gran at her mangle when hoisting and lowering.
Your main is on the old boat....now in Preston.

Mine are held in with velcro so far so good & 14 yrs old. Mind you the main is fully battened
