Back from hol\'s

Just back from 2 weeks on boat.
Super time - Cherbourg, Jersey, St Malo, Dinan, Tregieur, Guernsey, Dielette, Cherbourg, Folly Inn (Cowes) and home to Shamrock Quay.
High point was Dinan. Beautiful town, and they threw in a music festival whilst we were there. Low point was Tregieur. The day we arrived they had raggies arriving on some Triangular race, and had reserved all serious sized pontoons. Bit dissappointing as the write ups looked good. Harbour master apologetic, but not particularly helpful. Not inclined to return. Other low point was that Folly has changed hands. Thursday music is now on Friday, so no knees up for us.

Weather sunny but cool, winds mainly 3/4, sea state on return from Cherbourg, "un peu agitee". English translation - bit bl**dy rough.

Biggest boaty problem was broken Morse throttle cable, (fixed by us in 1 morning, inc' finding new one).

Cruised most of time at c. 16kts (max 25+). Consumed vast quantities of fuel, but knew that when we bought boat.

As self appointed thread policeman I accuse you of a slight exageration there tcm. In fact the thread was in the top 5 and hardly off the page ... now, now play fair.
