if you can re furbish this its worth a bit - I saw a new one for sale at Force 4 Chandlery for more than £3900 - really - more than three thousand nine hundred pounds!! seems like a lot.....

I have seen it too but I am quite sure there is a typo. Those devices may be found new at a more reasonable (if you are willing to consider it so!) price around £1500. I am not sure myself whether the latter is a reasonable price but if my Baby Blakes failed totally (unlikely) I would probably buy a new one.
The important is being aware that we often do unreasonable things for the sake of our boats!

I saw it in the Force 4 shop at Deacon's. Expressed astonishment at the counter when i was paying for what I had bought ( a couple of screws) - they said the price was correct, and they actually get some takers at that price. Its a very smart piece of kit - but what a price...
