According to Tinley Electronics (who stock B&G spares) the older (maybe oldest) impellers are now unobtainable. Our boat dates from 1982 and the skin fitting is brass and nylon, I think. The little impeller sits in a small white plastic frame, about 1" per side. I don't want to use the replacement sold by Tinleys - it is expensive and worse, the plastic housing looks much more brittle. Has anyone managed to make their own impeller, or know of anyone smart enough to have bought a bunch of them before they disappeared? we have managed without a log for 3 seasons, but I really would like a working log. I am happy to pay the going rate. Suggestions?

I telephoned B&G to request the same thing, they needed to know the fitting colour to identify the model, they didn't mention any shortage & had them in stock.

Not to expensive either if I recall, just need to get down to the boat to find out the colour & I will be ordering one.

Mine is a network Quad, 1994.
