Azuree Yachts?

I have no sense of where the Azuree yachts would rank in terms of build quality when compared with other yachts.

I guess they are not up with Swan or Arcona.., but are they above, say, Bavaria?

I am asking about things like engineering, quality of lay-up, fit and finish, quality/size of hardware, keel-hull attachment, ability to be off shore in challenging conditions...

Has anyone here owned or sailed one?

Humphreys design, Med orientated, built in Turkey. Not in the mass production market - more like other Med producers such as Elan or Salona. No presence in UK (and no market?) so unlikely anyone has any experience except the YW testers who sailed one in Turkey in 2016. Positive report.

I saw the videos of the YW tests on the 46 and 41.

i agree they were generally positive, but mostly those videos are pretty positive.

I sense that the approach of those reviews is to compare a boat against the expectation for that marque.., rather than against some fixed standard.., so that a Swan can get a great review and so can a Beneteau.

I think that's fair - but makes it hard to figure out where the boat being reviewed sits; is it a boat you want to do W to E Atlantic crossing on?

The answer to your last question (if it were me) would be probably not!. They are Med sailing sunbeds/floating apartments, although of course with sharp sailing performance in light to moderate conditions. While it is true that many of boats aimed at that market in the past have made acceptable offshore cruisers, in recent years they have moved further away from the design characteristic that many consider desirable/acceptable for such use.

You have basic design data to go on (41) - High SA/Disp, 23, low Displ/L , 150, narrow waterline beam, deep draft, hull chines, twin rudders. All the key features of today's cruiser racers that want to pack in loads of accommodation and still sail well. Low labour costs , and business costs in general, enable them to offer an ex factory price comparable with say Hanse with probably higher standard fitout

They are well made way above a Bav, easily on par with Arcona in terms of build.

Design wise though they are not really aimed at offshore cruising, more med sailing.

I've kitted one (46) out for the ARC, and subsequently sold it for the customer.
