A little off topic for a motor boat forum but as a lot of motor boaters are dinghy sailors as well you may like this...

They had the Aussie v New Zealand 18ft Skiffs racing here in Auckland at the weekend. I chased then in the boat and clocked 20+ knots

going nicely ...

Oh for goodness sake Vagabond...... you're not suppose to show photos of grey skies, remember its always sunny in the southern hemisphere /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You did a good job getting such great shots at that speed, those boys are adrenalin junkies.

Did you read the story about the young lads that last month left Tassie in a 14' skiff trying to break a record, crossing Bass Strait (closest land to land point, 110 N miles) with a 25 knot following breeze. They had some gear failure at the end and failed, but still a mighty effort.

So true, and well worth posting, the skiffs have always had trouble gettting a strong fleet in the UK but they're great to watch in a good breeze. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
