Further to the earlier post, I too have a problem with the keel valve of my avon, it deflates over a period of 3-4 hours, irritating more than anything, is there something that I can do to service it?

[/ QUOTE ] You've seen the answers to the previous post. You've seen the links to Polymarine. They can supply the where-with-all to replace or service both types of valve. The choice is yours now; buy a new valve and fit that or take the easier route of buying the necessary spares to service it.

Alternatively find an agent who will do the repairs for you.
I had a problem like this with an Avon air deck, in a Redcrest with deflation while we were in the pub. As the valve was not one of the classic cross inside type but instead a removable valve body (for deflation) with smaller inflator tube concentric with it, I couldnt see the problem, as the little rubber valve was perfectly OK.
Then I realised that an O-ring was missing on the outer valve, where it gets trapped in a groove between the valve and the air deck. I think I got one in B&Q. I fitted the O-ring and now the deck stays inflated for longer than the rest of the Avon.
