Help. I'm going mad...
I've recently bought an avon typhoon 5 man dingy.
I can't get the floor to fit in it.
Has anyone had this same problem.
The floor is in 4 sections and I can't get it to lock together.
Any constuctive ideas would be great.
Barry.

I bought one recently. It is a small four man not 5!
I had considerable difficulty getting the floor slats out. In the end I have sanded them down slightly on one edge, to make them marginally narrower, and they now slide in and out without problems

If this helps........ I have a 2.85m zodiac with inflateable keel, 5 floor panels and two side bars with thwart seat. We found it tough too to start with.

Heres how we do it - per the handbook.

Inflate to about 25% the tubes and keel. Put the side bars in with the slots nearest the floor. Put in bow section and stern section and then fit the other sections until left with second from bow section not in. Then, fit one edge of this last slat into aft most section and lift bow section enough to force leading edge of this last slat into aft edge of bow slat. Then stand on top of slats and pull on the grab ropes, pulling the dinghy upwards and forcing slats together. Next, fit the thwart seat. Last pump her up to full pressure. A bit of candle grease helps but don't use talc or oil.

I had to do the same but also used to regularly lubricate the slot in the slide bars with washing up liquid, which seemed to help a lot. Got fed up in the end, mind you, so bought an inflatable floor type. Lighter and less hassle.
