avon seasport 320 steering problems

We have a jet rib that came with the boat and when we tried it out we found it doesn't turn. The handle bars move slightly but the steering seems to have ceased. Any ideas how to free this instead of one mans idea to bash the hell out of it?

Could do with some more info. Is the bucket free to move, which tells you the cable is seized, or vice versa?

Most likely it's the cable. Available as spare part. Quite tricky to fit but do-able in a couple of hours if you have tools and don't mind bashing your knucles a bit
