Avon Seasport 320 Jet Rib Performance Problems

We got the jetrib 2 or 3 years ago, its beens erviced twice and hardly used, the thing is that she doesn't seem to take off anymore, there seems to be a lag and then it takes off.

Any ideas?

Hi James... Never had a jet rib but have owned two jet bikes - similar technology engine wise. I had a problem with my first one a Seadoo - a real flyer 60mph stuff! My son was riding it when it seemed to lose power and would go fast after some coaxing and then slow down.

We took it to the dealer and they discovered a pebble had been drawn up through the intake into the gubbins and was lodged in a flexible pipe. It was acting like a rolling ball jamming up the intake when the bike was going slow but cleared as the bike planed. Maybe you have got some debris or silt sucked up in there?? Worth taking off the intake tube and grating to have a cheap lookysee> Hope this may help. Roy
