Avon rubbing strake

My Avon dinghy is losing the end of it's rubbing strake away from the tube at the rear, near the bend to the cone.

Is "normal" Avon patch reapir glue suitable to fix ?

IMHO, no. Buy small tin of the two part neoprene adhesive and apply it in warm sun, with the usual prep (ie clean with acetone etc). The bond strength from the 2part glue is amazing. I think this is what they use to make the boats at the factory. I did our Avon rubbing strake this way and it is as good as new

Thanks jfm - the 2 part neoprene adhesive - where from ? The usual swinderleries ? ( That's a new word by the way !)

It's generally available. Usually in a tin, maybe half a litre size is good, and a small capsule of the hardner. You mix the two parts and have about 20mins to work it. These folks sell it but lots of other sources too I think. http://www.polymarine.com/
