Firstly can someone identify model and age?
Secondly it leaks water under the transom.The black seal inside is split along its length which I suspect is the problem.Any suggestions for how to repair?The red valve surrounds were put in when the valves were changed, not original.

Firstly can someone identify model and age?

For age, is the serial no. legible? AFAIK, the last two numerals give the year of manufacture. Ignore letters.
eg: *********85* would be 1985.

 

[Rib Nut]

The Avon is Made of Hypalon so any patching you do to the transom make sure you use Hypalon material and two part Hypalon glue. I have always found www.rib-shop.com a great place to get repair products.
