I have just "inherited" an Avon Dinghy that my dad got with his new boat when he bought it. She is looking a bit sad and has rust marks on her. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a paint (or alternative) to help me not look too embarassed when I take her out.

Thanks!

The grey Flexthane paint is pale and will show up against the darker grey old type inflatables; it is also very expensive.

You need to make your boat unattractive for thieves so I suggest you let it look as sad and drab as possible- as long as it holds air then it's perfect!!!

Try oxalic acid (glassfibre hull cleaner) on the rust. Dont bother painting it.

I agree, Make it look rubbish and people will ignore it ... Fit a Seagull outboard and replace the seat with an upturned fish box.

Not much really sticks properly to Hypalon, especially old shiny Hypalon (this includes Hypalon glue...)
