Took advantage of the weather last Sunday and had one of those enjoyable winter trips out - a complete contrast to the summer madhouse that occurs around Poole at times. No jostling or bad manners from the few in the bridge queue, polite exchanges with the raggies and a decent speed in the harbour - then out into near perfect conditions. A good excuse for a few photos underway /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Poole Bar to the Needles view - spot any other boats?

Looking south from Poole Bar - only the local boats in the cod fishing competition were visible (on the horizon just out of shot)

west to Swanage, only the pot buoys to watch for, but two raggies on the horizon keeping clear of my wash

Ballard Down into Swanage Bay, absolutely empty so anchorage of choice

Then back to harbour minding the mayhem around Old Harry

Many thanks to the crew of Mustn't Grumble for the pics, company and lunch onboard.

Summer may be warmer but not necessarily better - but I'm glad most of you think otherwise and park your boats up for a good few months /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not all of us park our boats up... we too were out on Sunday looking for (and failing to find cod /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) Lovely and sunny Sussex way with just some residual swell from the storms to make for a bit of entertainment /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just a few like minded fisherman around, plus a handful of raggies. Thoroughly enjoyable and a zero hassle trip to end 2007, despite the lack of cod.
