Auxillary or seastart / Bayliner 2452

Hi all
Just purchased a 1998 Bayliner 2452, it hasn't got a bathing platfrom and was wondering if it's possible to install a normal drop down aux bracket? views on this forum seem to lean towards a Tohatsu 9.9 as an ideal motor.
Opinions would be appreciated on asthetics of having a permanantly installed aux engine ( not seen often on cruisers), or is best to stow away until needed? Weight of the motor when mounting then becomes a factor!
Seriously thinking about joining Seastart instead but their website says that their range is only 3 miles from the coast and i will be wreck fishing beyond that!!

You are definitely not going to want to hump a 10hp outboard about in an emergency. There should be some way of fitting an auxilliary permanently. You might like to check in to a U.S. site and ask the same question.
In previous boats I've had a 6hp on a drop down bracket on the transom and that was quite heavy to pull up.
If you go this route make sure that when the engine is down it is deep enough in the water - you'll need a long shaft motor or may even need an extra long shaft version depending on where you have to fit the bracket.
SeaStart are a last resort but one - far better to get yourself out of a mess if possible.
