I have previously mentioned my Autohelm problem and currently am no nearer solving it. The system has ST6000 master control..it all works fine.
On the flybridge is an ST7000 display, it did work but not now. I powers up when turned on from the master control and seems to repeat....for example rudder position I use. However no buttons on the ST7000 do anything...no beeps or display changes, nothing...dead.
I believe the ST6000 and ST7000 control units are interchangeable, in which case could I take the upper ST7000 off and temporarily wire it down as the master control with no upper one connected to see if if it then works.
Does anybody know if this will work as a test?
Next I need to know what I should expect to find on the three wires on the upper helm testing with a multimeter...it has only one cable, spliced on, the plug previously cut. ]Many thanks for any guidance.
