I am about to fit a 'SEA FIRE' automatic fire extinguisher to my engine compartment.
Insurance companies although do not insist on them do strongly recommend them, they have all sorts of statistics that show this area to be of concern.
I am happy to fit one but my concern is, can they accidently go off with just the heat from the engine?
My engine, a yanmar 75hp is cramed into a very tight space and it must get pretty hot in there.
I also beleive that they do a lot of damage once they have gone off.
Anybody got any experiances of this sort of thing happening?
