Autohelm Tridata

Having recently purchased a boat ( Hawk 20) with an Autohelm Tridata fitted, I have been unable to get it working. Wirng is OK but on turning on power, a high pitch whine is heard, on turing off/on again the screen appears but with static information, depth 6.o metres, speed 6.1 knots, trip 17 miles. Nothing can be reset. I have checked manual cue cards etc but nothing helps.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance

thanks for your help, yes it seems to be in this mode but unfortunately, I cannot even enter dealer mode to chnage this or any setting. Its back for repair I think.
Thanks again

Greetings. I, too, have Tridata problem which sounds related. Last season all worked OK. Put boat in water this year, Tridata log read Zero.Zero. Increased
boatspeed, still Zero. Switched off, then on again, 12v to instrument. Reading showed 1.8 knots, but stayed at that reading as speed increased. Switched off and on again, again reading showed increased value, say 4.1 knots, but stayed at that reading. O.K., switching off and on, the indicated speed moved with boat speed, but not accurately so, perhaps half or two thirds correct value.
I know these things work on some sort of pulse or time interval system, perhaps its that which is kaput. All the other functions work perfectly though. I don't see what could have changed over the winter other than some corrosion effect.
Anyone out there have advice to give?
