I have a Nauticat 33 and it has two helm positions, one on deck and one in a wheelhouse. In the wheelhouse there is a Raypilot 650 autohelm which is working. On deck there is an ST7000. We have an hydraulic steering system and had a new cylinder installed. Since then the ST7000 unit has not worked. The screen shows either 888 or various symbols and there is a continuous alarm noise. The display says “rudder”and also “cal”. I have been through the calibration of the unit but to no affect.
Do you know how I can get the unit working? Or how to silence the alarm... The manual doesn't say what the alarm is or how to silence it. Many thanks Sam

I too have an ST 7000 control, but a linear drive. Most of the time it works, but for no understood reason, will suddenly sound the alarm and lock up. The only way to free the steering and cease the alarm is to switch it off at the circuit breaker and then reset. I suspect there may be a poor connection somewhere, or a wire break that occasionally won’t take a load. Have yet to investigate. I think, in your case, I would carefully check all the wiring connections to see the installer of the new cylinder has wired it up correctly to the computer as a first step.
