The masthead fitting (transducer) for our autohelm ST50 wind instrument has broken. I have a horrible feeling that Raymarine are not supporting spares for this model any more. Does anybody have any information or an idea where we can obtain the said transducer. Thanks in anticipation

I think that the masthead unit for the ST60 range is compatible and also in April's PBO (issue 496) page 104 there is a review of a Stowe unit that is compatible. Still looking at around £300 however.

The new ones work with the ST50. Repairing it is not worth the money. The new ones are also a lot better and more reliable.

When you say the new ones which ones do you mean. I was advised that the ST 60 have a different callibration so read wrong. Please advise.

The ST60 display/transducer combination has to be set with a wind speed calibration factor of 0.7. IIRC, the ST50 display can't be calibrated, and, I believe, will operate correctly with the ST60 transducer. In my case, I fitted an ST60 dispay to an ST50 transducer, and found the cal. factor needed to be 1.0. I think this makes sense!

?? Are you saying an ST60 with an ST60 masthead unit should be set to 0.7? I have a mate with an ST60 M/Hu on ST50 insts, who always gets a different reading to me. I thought he had the problem because his setup is mismatched.....
