I have an early version, with removable control head which is playing up. I've acquired a secondhand ST4000 with fixed control head, same shape as the Autohelm instruments on board. In spite of the fact that the boat already has a suite of Autohelm instruments, including remote fluxgate compass, joined together with Seatalk bus, I am told that my "new" ST4000 fixed control head needs direct wiring to its own remote fluxgate (identical to the one already on the bus), because the "new" head will not pick up compass info from its connection to the Seatalk bus. Is this correct??
