Too late now but I bodged a transparent sleeve for mine out of clear plastic and duct tape. Some foks send theirs back to Raymarine

They used to advertise them as "your bad weather friend". I wasn't pleased when mine suffered from "water ingress".

I'd have been stuffed on my own in Kindred Spirit without a tillerpilot, so as well as the main ST2000+ I also had an old AH800 stowed away in a deep locker.

I've actually considered making arrangements to be able to fit the ST2000+ to the rudder quadrant in Ariam, in case the installed below-decks pilot system ever goes wrong. I assume I'd still be able to control it from an st6002 head (disconnected from the main seatalk bus if that's on the fritz) - otherwise I'd be bobbing up and down from the aft cabin :)

That's towards the end of a very long list, though.

My 6000+ is 15 yrs old & apart from a clutch issue in the first year has been faultless ever since

Yep, my S1 / linear drive system has proved reliable so far. But even the most reliable kit can be scuppered by external forces, like my dad putting a screw through the cable leading up to our hatch garage and frying (with smoke and burn marks) the ST50 compass display.

Bummocks. What you need for the future is one of these...

My ST2000+ has been cacooned like this for 15 years now without a leak. I'll make one for you when I am back on dry land and send it to you, but only if you promise to go to the Tay sometime and make a video of you reciting the world's worst poem...McGonagall's On the silvry Tay.
