Hopefully towo very simple questions re the pedestal assembly for a ST2000 Plus;

The pedestal socket has a hole for the push rod to go in; this is so tight it jammed in and lots of fairy liquid was needed to free it. After lubricating the push rod it eventually would go in OK, but still not as easy as the mounting socket supplied with the Autohelm. Anything to worry about?

How far should the push rod go into the pedestal mount? The mount has a cross hole and the push rod only just gets to the top of this hole. It looks as though it should go to the full depth of the pedestal mount. (although the standard mounting socket isn't as deep).

The mounting pin must not be such a tight fit in the pedestal or cantilever mounting brackets as you are experiencing. After all it has to pivot slightly in use and you want to be able to remove it easily when not in use.

Are you sure you have the correct pedestal.

I can't say if the pin should go in its full depth but I would expect it to go in no less deep than it does into the basic socket. There is a lot of force at this point!

Do you have the manual if not it is available HERE

It might be worth looking at the "Find answers" section of their customer support webpage. If not then try the "Ask Raymarine " tab.

Personally I'd just drill it out a smidgen so that it fits about as easily as it does in the basic socket. You should not have to though.
