Autohelm parts

Can anyone suggest where I might get the old type Autohelm 6000 control head from. It's the one with the red buttons and rudder knob. Funds don't allow for a complete replacement so I image it will have to be a second hand unit.

I assume you have asked Raymarine UK if they have any old 6000 heads available or if the new 6001 is compatible?????

Yes I asked them when I was in Sicily earlier in the year and their reply was 'No we don't have any spares and why don't you go to Gibraltar where we have an agent who may be able to repair the unit'

Gib is a long way from Sicily when you are basically single handed and without an autopilot!

The boat is now in Sardinia and I can't get the Autohelm Agent to come and look at the job because the he says has larger boats to attend to and we are not worth the effort.
Unfortunately I believe that the 6001 and 6000 course computers are different and are not interchangable and therefore complete replacement is required.
