My through hull transducers work fine but the display has packed up. Are there any up to date displays that are compatable with my transducers or could I use the existing transducers with a tacktick wireless system perhaps?
Alternatively I think I remember someone saying recently that if their depth system needed replacing, they would use one the Fishfinder units in preference. Any advice please? Thanks. Alan

I think the transducers have been compatible all the way from original Autohelm up to whenever it was that they switched to emitting Seatalk directly - post ST60+, anyway. I would call ST60 modern, I think they're still fitting them on new boats even though snazzier ones are now available.

(Alternatively, I will shortly be selling most of a set of ST50 displays, as soon as I go and retrieve the last one from the boat which I could do in the next few days...)

There will be some on the forsale forum here before Monday :)

Cheers Alan for the nudge to get the last one from the boat and put them up for sale :D

What ST50 units are you selling ? Mine are OK but might consider spares - I have a Tridata, Depth & Speed. The Tridata ST50 also converts the seatalk to NMEA0183 which ST60 tridata does not.

I have now replaced the st50's with Tacktick displays and transmitter using the existing transducers. Also bought from the For Sale Forum a Tactick Wind kit. Everything was a doddle to fit and I'm very impressed. I have two observations

1. I can't see the Tacktick stuff lasting 15 years like the st50's did!

2. I used those Gel filled connectors which were tested in the March PBO. Brilliant! I bought both 2 and 3 way from Amazon. They make connecting the nmea wiring so easy. Thanks. Alan
