Hi all,
I've given up trying to do this by way of attachments so here's a link :

The cable is only 48" long now, if you want to know how to shorten one PM me!
So no bends, little friction at all.
The unit fitted under the aft cabin deckhead.
All the loads are taken on the pivot.
Some slop therefore is required on the motor mounting bolts (elongated, washers, and locknuts).
The Radiospares motor inside draws 5A /8A max.
A rudder control unit compatible with Raymarine was included.
I got the unit which was intended to fit behind the bezel on the dashboard of a motor boat, on eBay surplus stock, new.
So there is an unused spigot for wheel attachment unutilised.
The Dufour 36 Classic is well balanced and the helm excursions are seldom more than 5/10 deg per side.
The dog clutch is included also, so you wriggle the wheel to release, having turned off the AP.
If you see one of these about, it does a nice upgrade to the 4000+ single box AP which originally had a wheel belt unit (black)
Also the 10/15 second hardover time is less relevant with a well balanced yacht, I'm sure an MG RS would love this setup.
That's all folks!
