I inherited an Autohelm 3000 with my Moody 30. Everything seems to work ok - for a few minutes, then the Autohelm disengages. When I've had problems with Autohelms in the past, my first move is to check that no-one has put something metallic near the fluxgate compass. The next is to do the 'swing' through 360 a few times to calibrate.

But a repeated disconnect? On checking, I can't find a fluxgate on the 3000, and the manual makes no mention of one when fitting. Fault-finding in the manual makes no mention of disconnects.

So I'm a bit stuck. Anyone have any suggestions (apart from buy a new autohelm)?

My 2000 (same box) would drop into standby from the voltage drop when the engine (on the same battery) was started. Also from dirty or intermittent power supply connections.

Mine is dropping out whilst the engine is running. That might point to either (a) under-voltage, (b) contact problems/wiring issues. I'm now 1000% nearer finding the issue. Thanks.
