Autohelm 2000

I have an old but very good Autohelmn 2000 tiller pilot which this weekend has started to make a loud and very annoying high pitched electronic " whistling noise" that seems to have two tones. Do I have to live with this or can it be repaired????
It would be a shame to replace it as it works very well.

Autohelm are now part of Raymarine. They have an excellent service department, but only limited spares available for older kit. They will be happy to look at it for you - but I think they charge a standard fee of about £30 for the inspection, whether or not it is repairable.
