Autohelm 2000 drive versus Raymarine ST4000 drive

I want to fit a used Raymarine ST4000+ autopilot system and wondered if the old Autohelm 2000 drive/ram has effectively the same power as the Raymarine ST4000 drive/ram? Apart from age, it’s really the same beast isn’t it? It’ll work withe St400+ control head?

The 2000 is very different from the 4000. Do you mean the old 3000 which also had a separate control head and drive?

The ram (Drive) is the only part I’m interested in. Ive found a used ram which I understand is (yes, I see my mistake!) from an old 3000 setup. It looks physically the same as the most recent Raymarine ram offerings. I want to find out if it actually is and whether it will work with my ST4000+?
