Autohelm 1000 Micro Tiller and Z076 Hand control- help wanted

Can anyone offer any assistance with the above?
The tiller pilot works fine on its own, all buttons function correctly.
Having purchased a hand controller Z076 from Ebay, when plugged in, the tillerpilot does not respond to any key presses of the Z076.
Opening up the Z076, the PCB just has 4 x press to make switches and some resistors on it, no transistors, IC's or anything fancy.
I assume that the Z076 switches are basically connected in parallel with the switches on the autohelm, duplicating the operation of the autohelm ones?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram/circuit diagram for both units they can email me? I have the User/Installation Manual already downloaded from the Raymarine website, but no circuit diagrams on their that I can find.
Or any suggestions as to what may be the problem? I'm yet to check the continuity of the wires between the Z076 hand control and the connecting plug, that is my next job.

Not according to the manual, the -1,-10,+1 and +10 buttons should mirror the same buttons on the main autohelm unit.
Will inspect this weekend when I have more time and see if I can resolve the issue.
A circuit diagram may assist in determining the problem though!

Did somenone managed to use a remote control for autohelm 1000?

I would like to add some external switchs plugged on the windvane connector, but after I checked cable and PCB, I don't see any connection between this external connector and the original switches.

I can cut the and reconnect the cable to connect my new external switches in parallell withe the original switches, but maybe somebody have a beter idea?
