Hope you all had a good Christmas .
Does anybody have any info on fitting autopilot / autohelm systems to a Merry Fisher 805 without going to huge expense. Are there any easy quick solutions out there?

Is your steering hydraulic or Morse/teleflex?

I have fitted the Autohelm ST-4000 to my 31-foot 16,000 lb cruiser. It's the type that bolts to the wheel helm. The steering is the Morse/teleflex type . I've been using it for ten years now. I did not need a rudder position sensor. I also have my laptop computer connected to the Autohelm St-4000 to follow a course set up in the laptop navigation application. Works great.

The best cruising area is in British Columbia, Canada, inside of Vancouver Island. Just my opinion though.
