My Broom Ocean 42 has Whitlock Steering with an ancient Neco Autopilot. Does anyone know a modern Autopilot which would drive the Neco motor? The motor drives a chain which turns the rods.

I had a chat with a marine electonics guy in Brundall (we have whitlock too) and he said if the motors worked then most modern units would control them. Save quite a bit if they do.

Any autopilot will operate your "motor" but there is a small modification to do to the electronics in the top of the Neco drive unit.
I think someone like Geenham Marine used to do a modification for about £200.
good luck
