I have a full set of auto helm instruments. I am keen to keep them as they are cut into the varnished bulkhead of a wood yacht and new instruments require much lager holes for recessing and have a larger exterior.
The log has failed.
The read out shows 0.00 so there is power. I have replaced the paddle wheel and axel and checked all of the connections, but still 0.00.
The other instruments wind, depth and a repeater are fine.
What is causing my problem?

I don't know the Autohelm system but would guess that the most likely cause is still the transducer. You should be able to blow across the paddle wheel and send it spinning to show over 10 knots. I suggest the transducer because it tends to be susceptible to water damge. However if you open up the head you might find signs of moisture ingress whi9ch would lead you to think the fault is there. good luck olewill
