I plan to go to Australia in the autumn. The plan is to go on to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Would love to sail, of course. Anyone been there? Know any reliable charter agents? I'm going alone, and so would like to join as crew.

Re: Australia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu

Thanks a lot, Dave.
Do you reckon Brisbane to be a better starting point than e.g Sydney for something like this?

Distance to Noumea approx 900 nm?

hi again well , maybe sydney... as lots of back packers start out from there , and there seem,to be lots of adds on walls in hostel for trips up the coast and n.z . and lots of them put adds in paper, to get places on boats leaveing sydney, up here i see adds on our notice board in marina , and some times they cant get anyone , but its the luck of the draw .. also , its just a case of being in the right place at the right time but as they say if you keep trying youll make it . all yachtclubs are a good bet too, to visit and have a cold one and state your case , and you could also look up delivery adds in phone book and give them guys a ring as they sometime need a hand hope this helps if i hear anything ill let you no , i will ask around a bit to to see if i can fined any one going that way if you p.m me and let me know when you are likely to get here dave
