I'm getting far more charter enquiries for this new boat than I ever imagined. Just from grapevine, not brokers who charge commission. I like some charter, because it gives me an excuse for sea time and it's nice to meet new boat-mad people. (I make sure to chat to the customer before agreeing and only say yes if they're nice). I'd almost do it for free, but the fact it pays is nice.

I've just ruined down 6 weeks, all of July and 2 weeks of August, and was offered a sum of money approaching 20% of the boat price until they realised i really did mean "no".

Anyway, I digress. I just agreed a 16 day charter, first half of August. We'll be touring Corsica, Elba and Sardinia. So if anyone wants a berth in Antibes (max 18x5m) mine will be available and I can sort out for you to rent it from the capitainerie

Our premiership chum would probably take you up on that,, you couldn't persuade Magnum to disappear off for the preceding two weeks as well could you :-) , four weeks should do it. Watch out for his new ride though, thought the old one was bad enough, this one sounds like a Messerschmitt on steroids !

Re: August berth avaialbe Antibes SofF

Blimey! And you're driving it down for him I suppose? Well for a massive fee he could even borrow my Mole Sud pass to park it, I suppose. Though tell him not to scratch my car :-)

Actually he should be there at the same time as Magnum, cos Magnum has got a new ride as well, and it might well be better than Mr Prem's new ride! What is this new mescherschmitt then? It'll need to be of 12 cylinders + dancing horse standard to take on our Magnum :-)

Wow, fab stuff, well done.

Don't be shy in sending me your dregs and stating your commission, I think I might try and charter ours a bit more this year, now we have the fun boat in Blighty as well. I'll get it nicely spruced up, but I guess most of them want brand new boats, not few years old? I'd get paid captain as well, not do it myself, with Sonia as crew and chef.

I'll have to get the low down on how you've found your charters next time we catch up.

Ha! A sign of age...

Have fun tomorrow, did you use that surveyor we talked about in the end? Hope it goes well for you (literally).

Cheers
Jimmy
