Who'll be out and about?

Current plans for the good ship Stargazer are either a bash down to Burnham, (tho' it may be a bit busy due to Burnham week) or down to Bradwell/Brightingsea Sat/Sun, back up the Wallet on Monday.

We'll look out for the secret Scuttlebutt recognition signal....

Given a Guapa forecast we will be going to WaltonTitchmarsh on Saturday, backwaters on Sunday and back down the lovely Wallet on Monday. The Wallet owes us a nice trip on flat sea so I am optimistic /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We are going to Burnham to play in Burnham Week.
Sailing there on the Friday from the Deben.

If you fancy a days "racing" I am sure that we could find space for you all on one or two of the forumite boats

The winds look great for me but must therefore be rubbish for you heading to Bradwell. If you do go there then you'll find the lines on A33 will fit you just right.

In true Bradwell style you can't see the berth numbers until it is too late - we don't like to make things too easy for visitors as it spoils the fun watching them /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

John, we aim to leave Woolverstone at about 0630 on Saturday and drift north from then. (looking at the winds it could be a motor!)

The tide over the bar is HW 0932, therefore, this is the very latest to get in!

We were going to head straight up to Aldeborough and either pick up a mooring by the Martello tower there (or anchor!).

The trip ashore would go to the Cross Keys pub, a bit of retail therapy (Musto/Crew/Joules/Quba etc etc)

In the evening we were hoping to have a BBQ on the beach there.

Sunday would be drop down to Orford to go to the pub & smokery (and the castle for those that want to!) and back to the Orwell on Monday.

Nick,

thanks for that. At the moment, the Met Office and Metcheck are giving Westerly winds for Saturday, so OK for a run down the Wallet. (SWMBO is anticipating a good meal at the Kovala restaurant in Brightlingsea /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) May need a bit of assistance from the engine, tho'.

We were planning to leave at a similar time to you, to catch some favourable tide down the coast, so we'll look out for you around Felixtowe - camera in hand, so we can post some piccies on Shmoo's site....

No problem John, give us a call on the VHF if you change your minds (boat name is Cento).

As a bank holiday weekend, you will probably have to book the Kovalam. The number is 01206-305555

We will be up the Ore/Alde all weekend if anybody is there.

We will also have the camera at hand!

The Mirror National Championships are at Brightlingsea this weekend, so there will be a large number of small red sails brightening up the Colne.
