Just got this today and its stll June!

How does that work?

Quick flip - looks a nice edition however P23 has pix missing it seems.

Then our boats P104 has caption Princess 67 but talks about a Broom.

Does anyone proof read these days or is the mag just rushed out a month early???

well, the editors and commercial guys say that look, you can't sell an edition that says "july" from about halfway thru july because people will tyhink hm i'll wait tilll august. Praps also the resellers of the mags will also think oh, this is old., i'll put it at the back Hence you make sure that the "current" new edition in July is always August

There's also the situation that numerous naughty profit-centred types have already pushed forward the dates - so geting back to publishing the september edition in (say) august would indeed mean a nice month off - but also means taking a bath by only publishing 11 months in the year.

I bet there's other reasons, but afaik, it's all about money, as usual. Heyho.

Yep - marketing.

This date of issue stuff in just about every mag.occurred several years ago (lots of years) when 13 issues were published over 12 months to hike poor sales.

I'm not really bothered but it just seemed a bit disjointed having Sept 09 mag on 28 June!

Quite nice really i suppose as it like getting an early edition of the Sunday Times from Kings X on Sat night and reading the Sunday paper at 2100hrs before you go to bed. Suppose if you had the full English too you could get Sunday morning boxed up before you sleep too!

It's because they sit around on W H Smiths shelves, so if they date it well into the future, people will think a six week old mag is still current and buy it.
