Auction at Ramsgate this Saturday.

Auction

Presumably these boats have been effectively abandoned in the council marina. and or are being sold to recover mooring fees etc. What a sad reflection on financial times and the way people can get enthusiastic about boating for a short time!
I imagine there could be some bargains to be had. Although the first one looks like it would be too expensive to get it useable again. (even at ) 0 pounds purchase price.
it is lucky I am not nearby as I can't resist a bargain olewill

One or two nice boats there.

If you'd left soon after your post, you'd have made it in time!

Lot 4 'Sabre' is a Hunter 701 - actually 23' - and could be fin or hydraulic lift keel; it was designed by Oliver Lee and is the format the Anderson 22 was developed from.

A good seaworthy fast sailing boat going for somebody, can't see any huge costs in getting her up & running; though if a fin keeler the berthing / mooring costs in the South East may well be the reason she's arrived at such a situation.

Hope she finds a deserving owner.
