'Twas the ATYC Rally at Kingston last weekend. not a whisper on here about it - did anyone go?
Rumour has it that number of boats attending was down.

attendance of the ATYC Kingston event is always less than that of their other events at Henley and West India dock, mostly I suspect due to it being at Kingston. Certainly among boaters I have spoken to recently, it is the location that puts them off going.
Spot on!
Bucket loads of restaurants, honkng great shopping centre, Hampton Court round the corner?
Loads of yobs , loads of late night waterside drinking holes , loads of nightclubs turning out loads of drunks in search of kebabs and trouble , loads of traffic on the busy road that runs alongside the river ....
I wouldn't wish an overnight stop in Kingston on my worst enemy.

And that is why tomorrow night the Dunkirkers (including me) will be staying with you rather than overnighting in Kingston ahead of the veterans cruise.
Come on Rich , i know as well as you do the hell hole that Kingston is on a weekend ...
Take a walk through the pedestrian area early on a sunday morning ...... sick and take away wrappers everywhere.
Yobs are seemingly magnetically drawn to the river as well ...
Don't you remember many many years ago when we got into a fight at the ATYC for no fault of our own ?
