My boat has a seam around the sugar-scoop stern where the main hull and transom sections are joined. This seam sustained some slight damage due to bad parking by another boat last year but is now repaired. In order to prevent this happening again, I have obtained a length of U-fender moulding which I will fix to the seam. I would appreciate comments about how best to ensure that this stays put. Would a bead of sealant (Sikaflex? - if so which one - or some other cheaper alternative?) inside the U moulding be best. I don't want to use screws or rivets.
