Brilliant links - thanks. I'll also hopefully make practical use of your website before too long. Very helpful, indeed.

Thanks!

For synoptic charts check this:

http://weather.noaa.gov/fax/otherfax.shtml

This is the American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (so the Yanks administer the weather eh?) but the North Atlantic synoptic charts are straight from the UK Met Office (check the MSLP links).

Hope this is useful and happy voyaging.

Thanks all, the information is very useful. We are doing a delivery from Trinidad to Gosport via Azores at end of April so I will be following weather charts identified above.

there used to be an excellent site that included all the synoptics out to +120 hrs that bracknell transmits on weatherfax but it stopped working last week and has now vanished. it was at http://www.maalla.co.uk/uk-weather/syn.htm does anyone know anything about this site?

there are atlantic pressure charts on the BBC sailing weather website here but for some reason they have been unable to make the dates on the link match up with the dates on the chart so i'm disinclined to trust them (i did email my feedback but it fell on deaf ears)

Chris - I think the MetOffice weatherfax charts are still available on the NOAA site I referred to above.

Regards,
John
