Thinking of making Atlantic crossing via the North west passage with extra fuel capacity has anyone tried ? Thinking of going late spring and then head south to Florida is it a feasible passage . Journey first took place in 10 th century by Irish monks so should be possible in 21st century with all modern nav aids . Any volunteers or sponsors ?

In the 14th / 15th century fisherman used to sail from England to the Eastern American seaboard without even landing there, just to fish . The British are a nation of seafarers and crossing the Atlantic in a Princess 35 would be another challenge . Maybe the Motor boat monthly cruises would like to join in then we could have the Exxon Valdiz as a support ship suppling the fuel.

Thought it was an LP by Rod stewart or am I just showing my age?
You could always have your supplies air dropped.
Second thoughts you would be better of wearing your new jacket and listening to Rod!

P35? Someone give him a P45. Can you imagine, a couple of hundred miles out and decides ooh it's a bit more than a F3, think I'll drop anchor here for the night and go for a pint in the nearest pub in me dinghy. Or one of his Volvo's gets an oil leak (see DaveS) or gearbox breaks (see Haydn) or dribbles gravy down his shirt (see ???), or runs out of Balvenie (see Kim) or runs out of courage (see me).

No too adventurous for me but I'll be first sponsor £1000 quid so's i can have a logo on the side "This pillocks nuffink to do wiv my company"

Coliholic Please send cheque a.s.a.p as not much space left for sponsorship. I don't want you to be dissapointed if you are on the "B" list of sponsors.

Here's your answer Mark, don't know why we didn't all think of it earlier, fill the tanks with good old solly and you could circumnavigate the globe on less than a tank!! ;-))
