ATF for a Hurth HBW 20 gearbox

The manual says to use a Type A fluid. None of the bottles on the shelf in Halfords mention type A of course, so I bought a litre of Halfords own brand called Dll. Before i tip it in the gearbox can someone confirm whether Halfords Dll is a modern equivalent for Type A, and if not what should I get instead?

Type A is long obsolete - contained whale oil.
Dexron II or III equivalent should be OK. Also officially obsolete but widely available. The Halfords is probably this.
I have heard that you should not use the latest spec Dexron VI but this is not authoritative.

Halfords IID automatic transmission fluid is a Dexron II type fluid, which is the replacement for type A, so should be OK.
