"Asking for two friends" (I really am!) - which are the best East Coast guide books?

Through the accident of lending them my tender to go an look at a boat (which they bought) I have become friendly with a couple from Down Under who are proficient sailors but don't know the East Coast at all. They have just asked me to recommend anchorages, and I rattled off Iken Cliff, Butley River, the Rocks, Wrabness, Stone Point, East Mersea Stone, Osea Island etc etc but then I thought - they need a pilot book!

Incidentally I have a copy of the original "East Coast Rivers" by Lt SVC Messum, RN, published in 1903 and that's still pretty good too!

The authors of East Coast Rivers and the excellent East Coast Pilot are posters on this forum. I recommend both books which are different in their emphasis and style.

Thank you; looks like the same two books as long ago but need new editions..
