It has been 6-7 years since I visited Ashlett Creek. With equinox coming up in March I was thinking of paying another visit. Draught of boat 1.5m therefore very constrained to a near high spring tide approach. Has anyone been there recently? Are all the buoys and withies still in place? I used to be able to dry out alongside the wall by the pub and tie the haliyard to the park bench. Are we still welcomed in this part of the Solent? Grateful for anyone with advice or recent experience.

That you'll find about 80cm less water in the outer channel than you expect. The channel is silted up a bit. As to the inner detail we gave up and went elsewhere so I can't say.

How far up the channel did you get?

It was June last year and we worked our way through the west south and round to north west ish part of the channel. We were just killing time on a sailing course so it wasn't a planned attempt and we lost the tide. Should be straight forward on a rising tide though. If in doubt do a survey run in the dinghy.
