Just read on the BBC, people in Portsmouth might find this interesting....

In a case to warm the hearts of motorists everywhere, magistrates successfully turned the power of the Asbo against a rogue wheel clamper.

There's one less clamper in town...

A 38-year-old public "menace" from Portsmouth was handed a five-year order for "intimidating and harassing" drivers and "causing distress".

Not only was he clamping cars parked on land where he had no licence to operate, but he once impounded a police car.

He was also reported to have tried to clamp two cars as they performed three-point-turns.

He was believed to be one of the first clampers in the UK to be given an Asbo.

The story according to TK

Clamper Chump Dumped

Smiles all round as news broke that a notorious car clamper, Portsmouth's Gordon Miller, has been reined in by an Anti Social Behaviour Order. Portsmouth's finest took action against him after dozens of complaints from his victims about unfair clamping and intimidating behaviour. Talking of which, among Miller's many targets was a police car, conducting a missing person enquiry. The copper was forced to take money from his own bank account to get his car released.

Now, if Miller breaches the ASBO and resumes his clamping piracy, he will be hauled up in court and could face 5 years jail time. We wonder which happy policeman will get the job of arresting him?

Nice one Ken. I'll bet the copper will think twice before passing out 'on the spot fines'.
