I don't believe it!

Over the last couple of weeks there has been various programmes re. Blue tongue disease in farm animals. The last one was an in-depth report on BBC Countryfile.

I have watched them and what came through was that it cannot be transmitted from animal to animal or from human to animal. The only transmission route is via midges!

So what do I see on TV tonight ~ an outbreak in East Anglia and plod has got the road blocked off with a sign, car and two plods standing there to prevent anyone from entering the area.

WHY?

Are they trying to "stop and search" any midges?

God give me strength.

The next thing will be GB saying he's on top of the problem but it's going to cost the tax-payer.

Peter.

This week GB is going to defeat gun crime:

Don't worry Ken. If Salmond gets his way Scotchmen won't be British soon so all that cr*p he spoke yesterday will be totally irrelevant

Just a continuation of the police state attitude created by TB. We await the first prosecution of a midge for not observing the restrictions.

Nah, I bet the midge would get off because plod incorrectly filled in one of the 400 forms he has too after a stop and search.

Actually thinking about the restrictions ~ did anyone notice if there was a "no fly" zone?

Peter.

Hate to contradict a good rant but midges can be transported on people's clothes, in cars and on animals - hence the need to restrict movements. That's why the cabins of aircraft returning from areas where anopheles.spp mosquitos are endemic used to be sprayed with insecticide - don't know if that happens anymore?????

Easy peasy.

Introduce a new gun tax to finance local authority gun warden patrols.

Or of course he could introduce a licensing system to ensure that only responsible people could get hold of guns.

and their funerals.

Labour... promise people the earth, make some unenforceable law, achieve Sweet FA.

Even if the midges get away scot free

The police will still keep their DNA
