Finally a sailing mag has dared to run an article on sailing rather than yet another bunch of photographs of our cleaners trying to but Gary's yacht back on the pontoon before he finds out.

So, er, well done y'all.

I get so fed up reading nonsensical and ungrammatical sentences like this one. Why can't people read what they've written before posting?

ooh, get you!

oh dearie me Oceanranger.

*other* people get might het much more fed up with people who've made a handful of posts, and already feel free to have a picky picky "go" at others who contribute so much more to the forums, see?

He's made teeny typos, easy to read through (replace the "but" with "put, frinstance?). Thisn't professional published text you know - it's chat, innit?

Why don't you address the issue raised. Myself, i've not got the magazine yet...

Seems a bit harsh Keith, it was posted at 2:00 and as tcm points out it's chat, not copy to be sent to a sub-editor before publication.

I'm sorry if you think I'm being harsh, but I have regularly read this forum for a few years now, and I find it sad that an increasing number of posts are becoming almost unintelligible due to sloppy punctuation, spelling and typos.
gess im jst old n kranky .

old kranky

right, er ,you read it for several years and made one post per month. in which case i spect you have plenty of time to perfect and spellcheck each post . Whereas other hit'n run posters just post and move on.

But i agree, i have pedantic moments too.

Badly trained

IMHO. I can remember when dogs could count, read and write properly. I think the dog world lost a lot when calculators and computers were brought in.

Harrumph.

And further more how dare you use my boats name as your
title, peeps will think its me, banging on and moaning
(No comments please Forumites)

I must to apologise to Oceanghastly, i forgot to place
the full stop after the word moaning, in my previous
post
Some other nit picker was nadgering on about how
many P's in Pete, if he's that clever , how many K's
does he think there is in Sake?
Or should that be "there ARE in sake

Awfully sorry, Keith is it?

It was late and I was a tad tired. But it was meant to be a round-about compliment to YM who get a lot of flak on here for repeated content, especially another five pages of berthing technique.

I had waited all month to see if anyone else would do it, but it seemed I was the only one who had appreciated it even if it is not something I might do that often. But then, that makes the article more valuable I suppose.

I tried to add a little humour, cleaners because it was such a ritual article that I am sure the YM staff hide when the editor is searching for people to do February's, 'How to berth with one arm behind your back.'

I hope this is more readable, I know it is upsetting to people when the miss out on my posts. I hope you accept my heartfelt apology.

Edit>> Oh! Peeps is people, it is a Micky take from the more curvy forum members who like it so much.

Dogwatch, I wasn't having a go at you personally, and I understand it was a typo. I was just venting the frustration I feel when I read some posts and don't have the remotist idea what is being said.
Anyway must stop now as the nurse is coming around to turn the lights out and take my pen away before I do any more damage.
