Aye, sure enuff. Still, as Shelley (PB) observed, 'If winter comes, can spring be far behind?'. I see your fine vessel is somewhere called 'Bonavie'; I wondered if that's a typo for Banavie or possibly for Bonawe although why you would go to the latter except to take a photograph and challenge us all to identify it I don't know.....
Shhh; we're all in denial. If we ignore the nights drawing in, they will go away......... in about six months' time............ /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
You are obviously one of a kind with William Dunbar (?1456-?1513)
Meditatioun in Wyntir
In to thir dirk and drublie dayis
Quhone sabill all the hevin arrayis
With mystie vapouris, cluddis, and skyis,
Nature all curage me denys
Off sangis, ballatis, and of playis.
and so on.
BTW, he is supposed to have been the first writer to have had the F-word published.
What's all this bollocks they are spouting on the Beeb about "..now the Autumn Equinox has passed the nights are getting longer and the days shorter....."
on Times Online they said "...It is the autumn equinox, and after today the nights grow longer......."
They are meteorologists for heaven's sake. Days have been shortening and nights lengthening since June !!
What they mean is the night is getting longer than the days but they never say that. So all divvy Britain thinks the process has started this week.
I'm not convinced that Percy Bysshe is the best Poet to be quoting on Sailing Forum

Notwithstanding which, if you're ever in Rome with an hour or so to spare (especially on a burning-hot day) the Cemetry where he's buried is a fantastic place to walk around - it's just west of the Pyramide Metro/Railway Station; so if you're travelling to/from Ostia Marina, you'll pass within two hundred yards of it. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
