Arson in La Rochelle

Arsonists destroyed a power distribution point at La Rochelle's Minimes Marina last week cutting the power to a large number of pontoons. The power is still not restored.

On the same night half a dozen or more berth-holders' cars were badly damaged in the car park. Vandals 'keyed' the sides of the cars which will need a total respray to repair. The damage is estimated at tens of thousands of pounds.

No arrests have been made. There are no CCTV cameras in the marina car park.

Missed that thankfully. Was up in the Vieux Port soaking up a very friendly & relaxed atmosphere whilst admiring the view of the city walls to port and the medieval towers of St Nicholas and La Chaine to starboard.

Hmmm. The same thing happened a few months ago at Benodet. I hope it's not an organized movement.
